What Is a Foldable Sprayer Used For?

A foldable sprayer solves a storage problem rather than a spraying one. The tank collapses when empty, which matters to customers who use a sprayer occasionally and have nowhere convenient to keep a rigid one: apartments, small gardens, vehicles, and retail channels where shelf space is expensive.

In use it behaves like any other low-pressure hand sprayer. The difference appears afterwards, when it folds flat instead of taking up a corner of the shed for eleven months of the year.

For bulk buyers, the foldable sprayer is a retail proposition. It sells on convenience and packaging to end users, not on specification to agricultural trade.

What Capacities and Performance Should You Expect?

Our square foldable sprayer is offered in 5, 10, 15 and 20 litre configurations, working at 0.2–0.3 MPa with a spray reach of 1–3 metres and a flow of roughly 0.8–1.2 litres per minute — the same working class as a rigid hand sprayer.

The tank is moulded in PC+PP rather than PP alone, which is what allows the structure to fold and recover without cracking. That material choice is the whole engineering point of the product.

Capacity should follow the customer’s plot and their storage constraint together. The 5 litre size sells to apartment gardeners; the 20 litre size to people who want a full-size sprayer they can put away flat.

When Is a Foldable Sprayer the Wrong Recommendation?

Daily professional use. A folding structure is a trade-off, and customers spraying every day are better served by a rigid manual sprayer that has nothing to flex.

Long-range or tall-crop work is also outside this category, as the reach figures make clear. For orchards and field crops the answer is a knapsack power sprayer.

Sold to the right customer this product is well liked; sold to a contractor it is a complaint waiting to happen.

What Should Distributors Plan For?

Packaging above all. The commercial advantage of a foldable sprayer is that it ships and merchandises in far less volume than a rigid one, and that advantage is lost if the carton is sized as though it were rigid.

Stock seals and nozzles as with any hand sprayer, and be clear with customers about folding it clean and dry — most durability complaints in this category trace back to storing it folded while still wet.
